This information is mainly for New and Prospective students of NOUN applying for undergraduate programs.
Be aware that Fees are paid in NOUN semester by semester. The fees you pay at first will probably be the most expensive in your years of study in NOUN. The Compulsory fee for freshers are as follows:
-
Registration fee N2,500
-
Caution deposit N3,500
-
Orientation fee N1,500
-
Matriculation fee N1,500
-
ID Card N500
-
Library fee N3,000
-
ICT administration charge N10,000
-
Total N22,500
In addition to this, you are required to pay for the registration of each course and the exam for each course that is registered. Below is the table for the course registration cost for various course units:
1-Unit Course: N1,500 per course
2-Unit Course: N2,000 per course
3-Unit Course: N2,500 per course
4-Unit Course: N3,000 per course
*Examination for each course costs N1,000
Before you are given your matric number, you must have done your clearance and have been given a clearance code. Once you pay into your NOUN account/e-wallet, compusory fees are immediately deducted, leaving behind the balance which you then use for your exam and course registration. You can top it up at any time if it is not enough.
Course registration, Exam registration and TMA assignment submission all have start and closing dates. See the School Calender to view the dates and deadlines.
Depending on your availability or any circumstance whatsoever, you have the freedom of choice to register as many courses as you can, provided that the total units does not exceed the maximum number of units the school allows per semester (usually 22-25 units). If you know your capacity can only carry a few number of courses at a time, feel free to register the few ones you can (the major disadvantage to this is that you will take a longer time to finish your programs. Bear it in mind that the maximum number of years you can spend in NOUN is 8 years.
You may have to read the information for the returning students in the next column for some information you may find useful.
If you need assistance or more details about course registration, you may contact us.
To view the list of registrable courses, visit us at the tutorial centre or click here to download them from the school's portal (requires a PDF reader like Adobe reader on your system).
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Besides the school orientation, we have our own special kind of seminar which tells you a lot more than the school will tell you or have told you. We have made a collection of facts and materials that can help you all through your entire study at NOUN. These information were gathered based on our overall experience and research in NOUN and as well based on all the documents we have collected as students. You can't know it all until you attend. It is open to all interested students (attending tutorials or not). It is a completely loaded seminar package that you will always be thankful to have attended. The date will be announced on this site and the cost for this is N1,000 per student. The fee coveres your refreshment, information and materials. The tentative date chosen is February 1, 2014.

Students entering new level
At the beginning of every level (i.e. session), students are required to pay the following compulsory fees:
-
Semester Registration fee N2,500
-
Library fee N3,000
-
ICT administration charge N10,000
-
Total N15,500
COURSE AND EXAM REGISTRATION
To know the list of your registrable course for the semester, contact us at the tutorial centre or click here to download them (requires a PDF reader e.g. Adobe Reader).
Whatever amount you get from summing the costs of the registered courses is calculated and added to the compulsory fee, and that gives you the amount you will pay as the school fees for the coming semester. Don't forget to add your tutorial fees to your list of expenses.
Once you pay into your student portal, the compulsory fee is automatically deducted. The remaining balance is what you use for course and exam registration.
The core (compulsory) courses are labelled with 'C' while the elective (optional) courses are labelled with 'E'. Students are required to register at least 1 elective course per semester (meaning you may register more than one if you wish). Students are generally advised here to register all the Core courses for that semester and then add only one elective course for the semester. In some departments, elective courses start to appear from 100 Level while some other semesters will not have elective courses until 200 level.
We urge you to seek our counselling before you make your choices of courses to be registered. The kind of course you register matters a lot. At our tutorial centre, we will let you know which courses to register and which courses you should not.
